Fenugreek seeds
Fenugreek seeds are said to aid digestion. This seed with a slightly bitter taste is used in all types of Indian cooking either as a tempering for curries or is soaked and ground along with rice and lentils to make dosai ( a savory crepe originating from Southern India)
Fenugreek seeds are called Venthayam/Mendiyam in Tamil and Methi in Hindi.
